HOW TO USE
Browsers and Plug-in Software
You can view INFOTUBE pages through web browsers such as Netscape or the Internet Explorer (4.0 or higher, recommended), with " CosmoPlayer" or " Cortona," plug-in softwares to view VRMLs.
Operation of INFOTUBE
- Starting VRML
From the top page, click on INFOTUBE button ( A) at the bottom to enter the menu page. Please select either a "Standard Version" (1176kb) or a "Fast Download Version" (558kb : limited function), and wait until all relevant files are downloaded.- Mode Selector
INFOTUBE has 4 types of navigation mode, 2 auto modes and 2 manual modes, as follows:
AUTO_FORWARD (default setting)
AUTO_PAN
MANUAL_INTERIOR
MANUAL_EXTERIOR
If you would like to change your navigation mode, please click on the selector button (B) and choose a mode indicated on the window.- Stop and Restart (for auto modes)
In the auto modes, the Tube is automatically moving back and forth. You can stop and restart by clicking on the stop / restart button ( D).- Cell and Information(onMouseOver action)
If a mouse pointer is positioned over a cell (02 ) on the Tube (01) (onMouseOver action), the cell and its corresponding Map (05) of the shopping street is switched on (C). At the same time, the corresponding HTML file containing detailed information of the cell will be loaded in the Information Window (04 ).- Bookmarks (click action)
If a cell is clicked, the cell is stored on the Bookmark Shelf ( 03) and registered as a bookmark. If a cell placed on the bookmark shelf is clicked, the cell is unregistered and moved to its original position on the Tube. (In the Fast Download Version, the bookmark function is active only at the front 2 rows of the Tube.)- Information Window
In the Information Window (04 ), you will find information about shops, products, people, and others. There are also links to corresponding pages ( E ) and official web sites ( F ).- Operation of Cosmo Player
(for manual modes)
Basic operation can be done in the Cosmo Player Interface ( 07). You can go forward/back by clicking on the forward / back button and then pulling a "string" toward the direction you would like to proceed. You can also slide or pan by clicking those buttons and pulling a string.- Touch Pad
You cannot operate Cosmo Player when your mouse pointer is on the cells. You can operate it whenever the pointer is on the Touch Pad ( 06).- Fly Mode and Examine Mode
You can change the viewing mode from "Fly Mode"(default setting) to "Examine Mode" by clicking on the selector button (G ).
